SUBAI- Strengthening Provincial Assemblies in Pakistan Invites applications for the Young Parliamentary Associates (YPA) Programme (2017-2018) 
The Young Parliamentary Associates (YPA) programme is an initiative of the European Union that seeks to recruit and train young professionals from various academic backgrounds to provide research and a range of support to the Legislatures in Pakistan. As part of European Union's commitment in supporting the democratic process and institutions in Pakistan, it has recently extended its parliamentary strengthening programme to the Provincial and Legislative Assemblies (Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan) through the inception of its SUBAI project which was launched on November 1, 2016. The project aims at advancing the functioning of Provincial Assemblies, through effective legislation, strengthened policy, budget oversight and enhanced representation. Under SUBAI, a total of around 100 Young Parliamentary Associates (YPAs) will be placed in all Provincial Assemblies over a span of 3 years. In the first phase, a total of 50 YPAs will be selected to be part of the 2017-2018 programme. Associates will be recruited for a period of 15 months and will be expected to serve a minimum of at least 12 months of their associateship. Candidates selected for the YPA Programme will commence their associateship in June 2017. 
 
Application Prerequisites 
 
Applicants should 
 
► Have completed a Master's degree/16 years of education from an institution recognised by the HEC with a minimum GPA score of 3 out of 4; or 3.75 out of 5; or 70% aggregate for Government Institutions; MBA/MS (Finance) and Computer Engineering students with a minimum GPA score of 3.5 out of 4 are eligible to apply
► Have completed a degree in: Law, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, History, English, Economics, Education, Development Studies, Public Administration, Computer Engineering; MBA/MS (Finance); 
► Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Urdu.
► Demonstrate excellent research skills;
► Have sufficient IT skills to carry out research related acitivities; command of MS Office is essential 0 Age limit - 30 years Applicants will be shortlisted based on their provincial residence against designated positions for each Assembly.
